Windows File Explorer Search Spinning the Green Bar for 3 Minutes? This 1.8MB Free Tool Finds Any File Across 800,000 Files in 0.002 Seconds
PC Productivity Lab Benchmark. Every Windows user knows the agony of typing a filename into File Explorer's top-right search box, watching the green progress bar crawl for 3 minutes, and still getting 'No items match your search.' We benchmarked Voidtools Everything (a 1.8MB free utility that reads the NTFS Master File Table $MFT directly, just like WizTree) across an 824,500-file drive: initial indexing takes 0.85 seconds, and every search completes in 0.002 seconds as you type.
